RESUME
Mr. Nikolaos Kostakopoulos was born in Athens and he graduated from "Moraitis high School" in 2007 with a grade of 19.4 “excellent”, first of his class and year. He graduated from the Medical school of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2013 with the scholarship of the Papadakis Foundation and completed his specialty training in Urology at the 2nd Department of Urology at Sismanoglio General Hospital in 2019.
In 2017, he was declared a Doctor of Philosophy of the University of Athens, after successfully completing his Doctoral Dissertation at the Second University Urology Department , with a final grade of "excellent".
From 2019 to 2021 he specialized in robotic and minimally invasive surgical urology as a Robotic Fellow at the Royal Hospital of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom (Aberdeen Royal Infirmary). He remains a Honorary Associate of the University of Aberdeen.
In 2022 he was declared a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU), after successful written and oral exams and a final grade of "9/9: excellent".
His authorship includes more than 50 publications in internationally accredited journals (PubMed, SIU editorial, European Urology Supplement/ Open Science, Hellenic Urology), with more than 200 citations, (h-index: 7). In addition, he has participated in the writing of 5 chapters in Greek and international books. He has also written 2 medical books: "Emergencies in Urology" and "Urogenital Trauma" published by Paschalidis publications.
He has taken part in many Greek and international conferences with announcements and as an invited speaker, while he has been an associated editor and a reviewer in many international journals.
Mr. Kostakopoulos has been a representative of the governing committee for the Urologists in training of the Hellenic Urological Association (2016-2018) as well as a member of the research committee of the scientific board of Sismanoglio General Hospital (2018-2019). He is a member of the Hellenic and European Urological Society as well as the Societe Internationale d'Urologie (SIU). He speaks Greek, German and excellent English.
In his free time he reads and writes poetry and prose and in 2020 he published his first collection of poetry with the title "Heliourgimata". His short stories have been published in collection publications and in the weekly magazine of the newspaper "Eleftherotypia": "9".
